Latest Updates from Our Project:

Alpha update 1
about 2 months ago – Fri, Aug 30, 2024 at 07:44:06 PM

Hey everyone, One month passed since opening the gate for Alpha access. More than 1200 people now can play the game, provide feedback and be a part of the development process. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for your support. This is a very special period of my life and I am so happy now. Still a long path ahead but the project has a good development velocity and I have a good feeling about delivering it in good shape and on time. Some more news will be announced next week but for now, I would like to share with you this Teaser/Trailed video about what has been done during last month. This is my first attempt to do such things. Please let me know what you think.

Thank you!

Introducing BackerKit and Surveys
4 months ago – Wed, Jun 26, 2024 at 08:37:53 AM

Hey everyone,

I'm thrilled to announce that BackerKit is now operational for Trench Tales after our successful Kickstarter campaign! If you missed out on anything or want to add more, now is the time. Although I'm new to BackerKit, I'll do my best to address any challenges that arise.

This also means that backer surveys have also been sent out as well. Please keep an eye on your email for it!

If you had issues with your transaction or weren't able to back but wanted to, you can find the preorder store here: https://trench-tales.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Otherwise, you'll be able to add anything additional you would like through the survey.

Also, if you haven't already and want to, you can join my Discord channel here. Roles will be assigned soon. https://discord.gg/fKGZKRB4ct

Thank you all so much for your support!

24 Hours Left: What to Expect Next for Trench Tales
4 months ago – Wed, Jun 05, 2024 at 08:21:32 AM

Hello everyone!

As we approach the final 24 hours of the Trench Tales Kickstarter campaign, I wanted to share what you can expect once the campaign concludes. Here’s a brief overview of the next steps:

  1. Kickstarter Processing: Once the campaign ends, Kickstarter will process all transactions, which typically takes around 2-3 weeks. During this time, they will provide me with the list of backers whose transactions were successfully processed before the first rewards can be distributed ( Discord Roles ).
  • Discord Role Assignment: After receiving the list of processed backers, I will set up a Discord bot to assign roles on the Discord. You will be able to claim your role by typing a command in the Discord server once Kickstarter has cleared the list of backers.

  • Alpha Build Distribution: Throughout the campaign, I have been diligently working on the first build for our alpha backers. Everything is on schedule, so you can expect to receive access to the alpha build as planned according to Kickstarter date.

  • Handling Payment Issues with BackerKit: Sometimes, there can be issues with processing cards on Kickstarter. To provide a safety net for the backers, I have partnered with BackerKit. This service will help deliver all rewards and allow backers whose transactions were declined to still claim their spot for a limited time. More details on how this works will be provided soon.

  • Steam Key Distribution: Alpha access will be distributed via Steam keys, which will be sent to the email addresses currently listed on Kickstarter. Alternatively, BackerKit will ensure that your key is always listed on their platform, so you won’t lose it.

This is just a brief overview of what’s coming. I will provide more detailed steps as we approach each milestone.

Thank you for your incredible support and response to Trench Tales. I am extremely grateful for everything. To stay updated with all the latest news and progress, make sure to join Trench Tales Discord server. Larger updates will be posted here on Kickstarter, but for more frequent updates, Discord is the best place.

Thank you once again!

Best,

Alexander

Dismemberment System
5 months ago – Fri, May 31, 2024 at 08:14:54 AM

Hello, everyone!

With just 6 days left, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the new dismemberment mechanic. Since this was unlocked recently, I decided to quickly put something together. This is still  highly work in progress and not a final system, but just a representation of what can be achieved.

This mechanic brings a whole new level of realism and intensity to the combat experience, allowing for more dynamic and visceral battles. Your actions have immediate and visually impactful consequences. Whether you're slicing through enemies with precision or unleashing devastating attacks, the dismemberment system enhances the game's immersion and adds a strategic layer to your encounters. I can't wait for you to experience this brutal and satisfying mechanic in action.

The grenade is currently the most effective form of dismembering your enemies, but do bear in mind that NPCs can detect and run away from them. Be careful in tighter environments with close combat, such as the trenches.

This setting, of course, is going to be optional if you’d like to experience less gore in your game. Here’s a clip of the development so far on the mechanic!

While we’re on the subject of dismantling different things, I’d like to talk about destructible environments. Most buildings are going to be destructible, though some might be more easily destructible than others. Since your weapons can be modified with different capabilities, piercing rounds, or bullets with high penetration, will be more effective in taking down one of those pesky buildings that stand in your way.

Sometimes, you can find rare weapon modules with additional custom damages, like the one mentioned above. This will add more damage to the base damage stat of the weapon, and allow for different effects. You may be able to find cool modules like the rare ammo magazine for the shotgun, allowing for fire damage, rare barrel for the sniper rifle that can penetrate through solid wood, brick, and even two aligned enemies, or even a poisoned bayonet which will add additional damage and have a high chance of disabling your enemies.

That’s all for today’s update! Thank you all so much for your continued support for Trench Tales! Join the Discord, and let me know what you think!

Venture into different regions and carefully navigate encounters while ensuring there's something left on the battlefield for you to take home.

Can you teach bloodthirsty Orcs to feel emotions, share their passions, and turn them into weapons? Only X days left until their campaign ends, if you like turn-based tactical combat, base-building or if you just want to see Orcs trying yoga, make sure you check them out.
